This deliciously sweet dessert is easy to make and gets done pretty quickly too!

I love making Besan Ke Laddoo! It is one of the few Indian desserts that I got right the first time I made it. The best thing? It requires just four ingredients – plus nuts for garnish. Ready to try your hand at this?

Besan Laddoo recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
1/4 cup + 1-2 tbsps ghee (clarified butter)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
12 coarsely chopped almonds (or any other nut of your choice)
12 almonds, sliced lengthwise in half, for garnish

Method:
Heat 1/4 cup ghee in a pan.

Add the chickpea flour. Cook on low heat for 12 minutes or till the besan is well done. Keep stirring while cooking it as it is very quick to burn.

Add the elaichi powder and the chopped nuts.

Mix well and remove from heat. Let it cool completely.

Add the powdered sugar and mix well. Shape into spherical balls.

Garnish with sliced almonds.

Once it cools completely, you can store it in an airtight container.

Pro tip:
Do not add sugar to the flour mixture when the besan is still hot. If you do that, the entire mixture will turn watery.

If you are powdering the sugar on your own and you have whole cardamom but not cardamom powder, you can just powder the elaichi with the sugar instead.
